We’ve lived in our house for nearly 25 years, and the one room that I never really liked was our dining room. Something just seemed not right with it, and I could never figure out how to make it work. I’m not a shopper, and the thought of going from store to store to select furniture with absolutely no idea as to what would look good was almost more than I could bear! Then I met interior designer Kim Rice. Kim looked at the style of our home and considered the furnishings we had in the other rooms. She carefully took measurements of our dining room and recommended an area rug and furniture that would be in proportion to the room. In addition to a mirror, lamps and decorative items, Kim selected beautiful artwork for the walls. She is energetic, opinionated (in a good way….I really wanted her to give me her honest assessment) and she listened very carefully to me and honored my preferences. The last piece of the project was selecting a chandelier. I absolutely love what we picked. It is the elegant “jewelry” that finishes the room. Now, after 25 years, I can honestly say that I love my dining room, and Kim actually made the whole process fun!

R. Designs was highly recommended to me by a friend that was very pleased with the decorating for their new home. Thus prompted my call to Kim Rice. My all seasons porch was recently built but lacked the coziness I was hoping to achieve. Kim’s first suggestion was rearranging the furniture which balanced the room and gave it a complete new look. We then selected fabric for recovering cushion upholstery, choose new lamps, additional accessories-adding all this to my existing furniture. I now have the perfect room I was hoping for along with a comfortable, cozy, relaxing area used daily. A new couch added to living room, along with sofa table, including rearranging existing furniture, and accessories, gave this room a beautiful, designer look. I appreciate Kim taking time to get to know ME, my preferences, favorite colors, listening to my suggestions, ideas, and working with existing furniture and accessories.
